We have 18 mo old quadruplets, 3 girls and 1 boy. Our boy has developed an unfortunate habit of flipping out when something doesn't go his way. He gets irate, screams, flaps his arms, and storms away, usually finding some random wall to face while screaming. He takes quite a while (20~30 min sometimes) to calm down. I know this sounds normal for an 18 mo old, but part of us wonders if he feels some sort of exclusion, being the only boy, and this fuels his temper. We usually just shake our heads to each other and attribute it to a German/Italian inherited temper, but is there something more we should do? Ignore it? Distract him with a book or something? Of course, having 3 other babes doesn't allow the parent watching them to focus all their time solely on soothing him. Any suggestions?
