"Mimulus" is the name of one of the 38 Bach Flower Remedies. It is the specific remedy for treating fear when the fear involves something that is known. For instance, mimulus would be appropriate for fear of robbers, fear of snakes, fear of losing money, fear of getting sick, fear of speaking in public, fear of the doctor, and so on. If the child can name the specific fear, then mimulus is likely to be helpful. Vague, unknown fears are better treated by the remedy called "aspen." Aspen treats fear of the dark, fear of monsters, fear of something bad happening and so on. Often a child has both types of fear. If fear reaches panic proportions, the remedy "Rock Rose" will be helpful since it helps o calm panic symptoms. All of the Bach Flower Remedies are available on-line and in health food stores all over the world. I would be surprised if you couldn't find them in a store in Montreal, but if that's the case, just order them on-line. For instructions on how to use them, check out www.bachcentre.com. All the best, Sarah Chana

I gave my son Mimulus for his fear of lightning and it really helped him. It took about a month for the best results but even right away he was calmer than ever before.

I've been taking mimulus to help myself give classroom presentations and it has been really helpful!

I had a really bad phobia of spiders that I used mimulus and rock rose for. I'm pretty normal now. Which is important because I was scaring my kids!
