All feelings are fine, but not all communication techniques are fine. If you want your son to be emotionally intelligent, continue to encourage him to express his feelings while firmly discouraging verbal abuse. Feelings sound like this: "I'm upset!" or "I'm getting really frustrated." or "I can't take this anymore." or "I need you to listen to what I'm saying." and so forth. There is never any need to swear or insult a person when fully expressing feelings. Look up "The Relationship Rule" in Raise Your Kids without Raising Your Voice or on the MP3 download on this site.
