| Kids don't always cooperate - they are immature after all. Your child should be encouraged to enlist adult help if he is being hurt. However, if he can't get his toy just then,or isn't being invited to play, perhaps he can be taught to shrug and walk away, find something else to do or someone else to play with. You don't want your child calling the teacher for help for every little negotiation. Help your child distinguish between when he really needs help and when he can cope with the difficulty in front of him. Not everything works out the way we want it to but we can cope - that's the message that will empower your little boy. Sarah Chana
