Hi,

I need someone's help, please! I can't afford to compete with the fancy -and expensive - birthday parties they seem to be throwing for kids these days. My 9 year old son's latest birthday parties took him to an NHL hockey game, a movie theatre, and horsebackriding.

I don't mind making a party in or out of our home, but can anyone recommend something original, fun, and yet inexpensive that will "fly" these days? BTW, I did ask my son, but we can't afford the very few ideas he came up with.
