| Kids feel loved when you act loving toward them. Teens need 9 out of 10 communications to feel good - things like compliments, jokes, chatting, playing, affection, gifts, smiles, acts of kindness, showing interest, offering understanding, expressing love, and so on. Check the articles section in Parenting on this site for an indepth article on how to show love, or read more in "Raise Your Kids without Raising Your Voice." Also, listen to the FREE download on this site called The 80-20 Rule. Limit your criticism and anger to almost zero because these two communications actually UNDO love. If, after you've established the 90-10 ration, your daughter still says she feels unloved, then seek some family counseling. Sarah Chana.
