| The kids aren't going to hate you or themselves but they will probably be very disappointed and sad. In fact, you can help them to feel their REAL feelings of grief by using the technique called Emotional Coaching which consists of naming and welcoming their feelings (upset, sadness, frustration, anger and grief). Don't try to talk them out of it. This will help them to heal faster and also help them not have secondary reactive emotions like hating you or themselves. You can also mention, of course, that allergies are no one's fault, they're common and everybody has something. There are kids who can't eat nuts or bread or other foods and in fact all people have something "wrong" in their health so everyone is frustrated about something. This isn't to subtract from their pain. It's just to normalize it. Hopefully everyone will heal sooner rather than later. Sarah Chana
