| This depends on your child. If she is sick very rarely, then you know that she really wasn't feeling well and that she did, in fact, recover. In this case, there is no reason not to go to the movies unless the sickness that she had been experiencing was of the type that reflected a run-down system. For instance, if she had been sick with a headache, it is quite possible that it just cleared up and now she is really fine. But if she had been sick with flu-like distress, she's probably run down and even though she feels better, she should stay home and rest. Now if your daughter gets sick fairly regularly, it's a whole different story. Kids who need to come home from school frequently need to be taught to assess how sick they really are and whether they are so sick that it will be worth having to stay in the house for the rest of the night. These are the kids who you can say to "if you stay home from school, you're staying in for the night." So, decide which category your daughter is in and take the appropriate action when she gets "sick" next time. Sarah Chana
