| It is really so hard to tolerate a screaming baby - even for a little while. You must be utterly exhausted with what you've been through for these past 5 months. Here is some good news: the screaming is guaranteed to stop. It's just hard to say when. You may be able to speed it up or maybe you can't. You say you've tried everything but I don't know what that means exactly. Sometimes a baby is allergic to the fabric she sleeps on or the clothes she wears. For instance, there is such a thing as a cotton allergy. Have you ruled that out? The baby may have a food intolerance - if you are nursing her you would have to have someone help you eliminate foods from your own diet in a systematic way to see if it makes any difference to your baby. You can find help for this at www.foodintol.com. Homeopathy has helped some screaming babies. Essential oils may be of some help - consult a qualified aromatherapist before using this on an infant. A professional naturopath may have methods and ideas that your doctor has not suggested. If you've actually done all this already and the baby still isn't calming down, your only other option would be to wait until the crying stops on its own, trying your best to be there for yourself and for the baby. Take rest and relief spells as often as possible; let others look after the baby so you can get out and save your sanity. Remember that the baby isn't doing this to you on purpose. Think of it as an illness that deserves sympathy and support. Just do the best you can. Sarah Chana
