| Well you are on the right track to think that this has something to do with your son's unhappiness about losing his computer time. And since "you" are associated with this loss, it seems he feels upset at you as well. Naturally, if you never disciplined him, he'd be a lot happier - but probably less well-adjusted in the long run. Disciplining kids is part of raising them to be functional and ultimately, happier. However, be sure to keep the discipline a small part of your interactions - follow the 90-10 Rule for teenagers (see Raise Your Kids without Raising Your Voice for details) - the magic ratio that ensures that love is successfully conveyed.
