| Many 5 yr olds have this issue, so he's not unusual. However, by this time the kids are old enough to be embarrassed by their accidents and parents do want to help them. Here is one idea: you can have a sticker chart for "dry days," letting him a prize after just 3 dry days. The first prize should be small but valuable to him. Then you can increase the task to 4 dry days and a slightly larger prize. These days do not have to be consecutive. Then go to 5, 6 and 7, increasing the prize each time. When he is doing quite well, then go for two days in a row, to get a sticker - 3 stickers get a good prize. Then 3 days in a row for a sticker. And so on. When he has one complete month dry he should get the prize of his dreams! This method focuses only on success and ignores failure altogether. I'd try a reward-based approach first. Sarah Chana
