My baby is 3 weeks old and everyone is giving me (unsolicited) advice! I'm a new mom and of course I don't know what I'm doing, but I'd like to be free to find my own way. My mother, my mother-in-law, my father-in-law, my siblings, my husband's siblings and even my neighbors seem to have an awful lot to say: "don't take the baby out so soon," "don't put so many layers of clothing on," "put more clothing on," don't nurse on demand," "do/don't use a pacifier" and so on and on and on. I want to scream "shut up!" at them all. But I'm too polite for that. Is there any decent way to get out of these conversations?
