| The reason for changing a baby's diaper is to prevent irritation to the skin. If your baby's behind is not red and sore looking, you are not waiting too long to change the diaper. Different babies have different sensitivities. Fair skinned infants tend to have more sensitive skin. You will want to change the diaper when it is clearly wet or dirty but that may not be after every feeding - just check your baby's diaper every once in awhile and you'll get her own individual rhythm. You don't need to change a slightly damp diaper unless she is getting rashes from that. If you are using wool diaper coverings, the moisture from the diaper will be drawn away from the baby's skin and this can also help. Sarah Chana
